Drill
Here's a simple drill to encourage the correct swinging action going
back and down:
• Holding a short or medium iron, take your normal address
over a teed ball
• Pull your right foot back from the target line; your stance
is very closed and the foot is turned so that only the right big
toe is on the ground
• Hit a few shots from this position and you'll feel your
left shoulder turn under your chin as your right hip coils on the
backswing; coming down, your right shoulder and arm drop the club
onto a flatter plane
• Take your driver and make normal swings, feeling these turning
and swinging actions. |
