Power Drill
Here's a simple drill to encourage the correct swinging action going back and down:
• Holding a short or medium iron, take your normal address over a teed ball
• Pull your right foot back from the target line; your stance is very closed and the foot is turned so that only the right big toe is on the ground
• Hit a few shots from this position and you'll feel your left shoulder turn under your chin as your right hip coils on the backswing; coming down, your right shoulder and arm drop the club onto a flatter plane
• Take your driver and make normal swings, feeling these turning and swinging actions.

Attack From The Inside

To groove an inside path into impact:
•Practice hitting balls with your right foot pulled back 12 inches from its normal position and set on its toe
•Make a normal swing from this stance and your right arm and shoulder will naturally drop to the inside as the swing changes direction, setting up a powerful in-to-out path through impact
• Hit several balls from this stance and then try to incorporate the feeling into your normal swing.

Tuned In

Imagery can be a valuable tool for improved performance. Take a tape recorder to the practice area. Make a recording of all your golf swings. Select the best sounding shots and create a tape that can then be played in your car on the way to the golf course. Set it to music for further enhancement.
What great preparation: Tune in to the whoosh of a purely struck iron and the satisfying sound of a putt falling in the cup.
